Poker at 89p89 — where skill and strategy have real value
Poker is different from just about everything else you'll find on a betting platform. It's not about the luck of a coin flip, predicting a score, or picking the right side. Poker is a long-term skill game — where the players who make better decisions, read the table better, and manage their bankroll better consistently come out ahead. The 89p89 understands this, which is exactly why the platform was built to give Brazilian players the tools and formats they need to develop and put that skill to work.
From cash tables with penny blinds — perfect for players just learning the dynamics of Hold'em — to tournaments with prize pools around R$ 10,000.00, the 89p89 has a complete poker ecosystem. Whether you're the kind of player who hits a home game every Friday with friends or someone who has spent hours studying GTO and range charts — there's a table, a tournament, and the right format for you here.
Texas Hold'em — the game Brazil learned to love
Texas Hold'em has dominated the global poker scene since the early 2000s, and Brazil is no exception. Today you'll find Hold'em players in every state — from casual home games in the neighborhood to live tournaments in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasília. The 89p89 brings that experience to mobile, with cash game tables open at any hour and scheduled tournaments throughout the day.
At the Hold'em cash tables on 89p89, you buy in for however much you want (within each table's limits), play as many hands as you like, and leave whenever you choose. No obligation to finish a tournament or hit a minimum hand count. It's the format of choice for players who want to play well but need scheduling flexibility — something that fits perfectly with the Brazilian lifestyle.
MTT Tournaments — the full competitive poker experience
Anyone who plays poker knows that a tournament has a completely different energy from a cash game. Everyone starts with the same chip count, the blinds increase over time, and the tension builds as the field narrows. The pressure of every decision grows as you get closer to the final prize — and it's exactly that journey that makes MTTs so compelling.
No 89p89, MTT tournaments have accessible buy-ins — starting from R$ 10.00 — with guaranteed prize pools announced in advance. That means you know before you register exactly what the minimum prize on the line will be, regardless of how many players enter. The bigger tournaments on the monthly calendar feature guaranteed prize pools ranging from R$ 5,000.00 to R$ 20,000.00, with slow blind structures that reward technical play rather than relying on luck at the crucial moments.
Sit & Go — poker on demand, instant prize
Sit & Go solves a real problem in online poker: you don't want to wait for a scheduled tournament start time, but you also don't want to grind cash games for hours on end. At 89p89, Sit & Go events are available in 2, 3, 6, and 9-player formats — the tournament starts as soon as all seats are filled, runs between 20 minutes and 2 hours depending on the number of players, and prizes are paid out immediately to those who finish in the money.
For players with 30-minute lunch breaks or a free half hour at the end of the night, the Sit & Go Turbo and Hyper Turbo at 89p89 are the ideal formats. The accelerated blind structures turn every hand into a critical decision — far less room to wait things out, and far more reliance on quick reads and decisive action.
Bankroll management — what nobody tells you when you're starting out
Most players who start losing money at poker don't lose because of a lack of skill — they lose because of poor bankroll management. Sitting down at a high-blind table with a stack that's too small for that level is the fastest road to going bust. The classic rule is to have at least 20 buy-ins for the stake you're playing in cash games, and at least 40 for tournaments — where variance is much higher.
The 89p89 supports that discipline by offering tables at every stake level — from cents to higher amounts — and by keeping a full session history in your account. Tracking your results by session, format, and stake over time is essential to understanding whether you're truly winning at a given level or just riding short-term variance. Deposit only what you can afford to lose, move up in stakes slowly, and let volume do the work.
